Our debut embroidery project is super easy and a great way to learn a few basic embroidery stitches. The pattern is included in Volume 1, Issue 1, Summer 2024.
Supplies
- Kunin Premium Felt
- Embroidery Floss
- Thread
- Embroidery Needle
- 5/8″ grossgrain ribbon
- Lobster clasp or ring
See Issue 1 for a full detailed list of supplies.
Additional Notes
The keychain can be sewn on a machine or by hand. Select other color palettes for a variety of looks. These make fabulous gifts for Christmas, birthdays, Mother’s Day, or any occaison.

Be sure to trim the top before sewing inside the cutting (blue) line. I use pinking sheers to give it a decorative edge.
Choose different colors to make a variety of different designs. You can also use a linen or other stiff fabric in place of felt. Just be sure to use a heavy duty craft interfacing.
You can sew by hand if you do not have access to a sewing machine. Make small stitches and pay close attention to how the back stitches are lined up as well.
